The back and sides of the 214ce-DLX Deluxe Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar are crafted from layered Indian rosewood and paired with a solid Sitka spruce soundboard, just as the standard 214ce, but features a full-gloss body and a matching inner veneer ÎÎto cater to this guitar's upscale appearance (the standard 214ce has a satin finished back/gloss top). Tonally, rosewood laminate and Sitka spruce give the 214ce Deluxe it's clear, well-balanced tonality across the entire spectrum, and whether you're strumming chords or playing a nice fingerstyle arrangement, the Grand Auditorium body is sure to deliver. The Grand Auditorium body shares the same length, width and depth as the dreadnought body, but has a smaller waist. These refined proportions give the GA it's unique acoustic voice while making it the most musically versatile of all the Taylor shapes, perfect for any musical scenario you throw at itÂwhether your recording in the studio or on the stage, performing with a band or performing solo, the Grand Auditorium won't disappoint. On top of it all, the body of the 214ce-DLX Deluxe features white binding and a smooth-lined venetian cutaway for enhanced accessibility to those higher frets. The sapele neck on the Taylor 214ce-DLX is topped with an ebony fingerboard and features beautiful small diamond inlays as opposed to the dot inlays used on the standard 214ce.
Typically, the 200 Series features the Taylor ES-T electronics, but the 214ce-DLX comes fully equipped with the top-of-the-line Taylor Expression System (ES), generally reserved for the higher end Taylor models. The Taylor Expression System pairs a top quality pickup system with a professional grade preamp and employs revolutionary Dynamic sensing technology, allowing ÎÎthe natural acoustic sound of the 214ce Deluxe to be faithfully amplified, just as it should be. Because top vibration has a huge impact on the sound of an acoustic guitar, the proprietary Dynamic Body Sensor captures those soundboard vibrations by strategically placing a network of surface-sensing, magnetic microphones under the guitar top while the patented Dynamic String Sensor is mounted underneath the fingerboard to measure the vibrations of the strings and then turn them into an electronic signal... the resultÂa beautiful, organic acoustic sound when plugging the 214ce-DLX into an any amplifier or direct box via standard 1/4 instrument cable or for an even greater signal level (with no loss of frequencies, even with long cables) plug directly into recording interface or mixing console via balanced line level input (TRS to XLR cable required, no Direct Box required for this application). The ES also features simplistic volume, bass and treble controls for precise tonal shaping while the unobtrusive design doesn't take away from the guitar's aesthetics.
