I bought this console to mix an album 2 years ago. I've compared mixes run through it against several mixers including a vintage Neve sidecar, a Neotek Series I and II and it was strikingly similar in many respects and perhaps even better in some. (Noise floor better than Series I, more character than Series II, and surprisingly similar lows and mids to the Neve.) The desk does sound warm and wide with subtle and tasteful distortion when pushed. It includes original power supply and a significantly better one specifically made for this board.
Only reason why I'm selling it is because I bought a reel to reel multitrack and need more line inputs to accommodate both it and my protools system simultaneously, so I bought a larger board.
This is a vintage console that is decades old. With that comes the great sound of classic designs, but also the normal issues that you might expect from something this old. Even though I went through it and cleaned every single pot with deoxit, there are still scratchy pots throughout. The meters can be finicky, but I never really rely on them so it didn’t bother me. It seems like a relay in the control room section is stuck on, so that section does not work right now. I believe that relay will have to be addressed before that section works properly. Again, it never bothered me because I only used the board for analog summing back into protools (and it sounded great!)
The mic/line select buttons tend to pop up from line back to mic, so I used small pieces of painter’s tape to keep them down. If you’re going to use this board to track, you won’t have this problem. And by the way, the preamps sounds really great on this.
