Up for sale here is a vintage 1960's Kent Newport bass, model 528. This
is a great short scale bass with a nice chunky neck and single centered
pickup. It's all original with the exception of a replacement tone
control. Includes the rare Kent stamped bridge cover. Split aluminum
pickguard. Fender style headstock with gold K logo. This bass has been
fully set up, frets dressed and polished (showing no visible wear) and
restrung with D'Addario flatwounds. Has a great feel and sound. Neck is
straight, saddles are slotted to match neck radius nicely. Did I say
this neck was chunky? Some scuffs around the bottom edges, and a few
shallow chips in the clearcoat on the back of the neck as shown, which
do not impede playability. Overall it's a cool vintage MIJ short scale
bass for short scale money!
