Teisco Spectrum 5 Japan Original 1967 Lake Placid Blue Van Halen

   Here we have a very rare original 60's Teisco made in Japan Spectrum 5 in Lake Placid Blue!  The guitar is fully original except for the changed nut that came off another Tiesco electric guitar here in the shop.  The guitar is all set up with fresh Ernie Ball .10-.46 strings and ready to play.  Nice low action and a heavy duty tremelo-vibrato system that works very well and stays in tune.  All the electronics, pickups, and switches all working as they should.  Frets show very slight wear with no pitting.
           Cosmetically VERY clean with 1 spot at the bottom of the body where some finish has gone missing as seen in picture.  Gorgeous.
          The only issue is the Teisco plastic emblem is missing but I am sure they it be found as this model was reissued in the 90's.  I am going to look online for one.

Headstock: natural, w/ 5-ply binding, & pickguard-material trim piece.

Tuners: original chrome, 4 + 2 per side, w/ chromed buttons.

Nut width: 1 ⅝”.

Scale length: 24 ¾”.

Pickups: 3-into-6 split “Z-coils”.

Pots: original, dating to late 1966.

Controls: jack input Mono, jack input Stereo, Volume, Tone, plus 5 colored slide switches for different pickup mixes & blends.

Knobs, 2 total: original brushed aluminum, Vol & Tone.

Bridge/tailpiece: original sliding-system tremolo, w/ orig chrome cover & tremolo arm.

Approx. guitar dimensions: 41 ½” long x 14 ½” wide.

Same year as Eddie Van Halen's except his was Candy Apple Red.
