This is a very special Tuff Dog Tele. There guitars are the cream of the cream as is but this one has a very cool story. Any little specs captured in pictures are small lint from the case or glares. This is MINT. This was given to one of Merle's very long time friend for his birthday back in 2008. The owner of was a lawyer by trade but very much a musician himself and his ranch had a small venue where he and Merle would play over the years. In fact it was the location for Merls 1978 wedding to Leona and YES, this comes with the original wedding innovation for that event! As I mentioned there is a lot of provenance that comes with this. Including a signed affidavit from the previous owner own his own legal letter head and signed. It states that this was a gift from Merle and he signed the back when he gave it to him. This guitar was played for that evening and put away. Merle played it and so did Ben Haggard. Since that night it has been in storage in its case.
I became the owner of this in 2016 just months before Hag's passing. It has always been in the case except for one special day a year where I played a song or 2 and wiped it down and put it back. It still has the same strings as when Hag played it. Included in the sale are pictures, the legal affidavit of ownership, a copy of Merle's pardon, the obituary of the previous owner (stating they were long time friends, the wedding invitation and some other paperwork. It also comes with everything as new including the COA and all case candy. The case still has the blue protective wrap on the locks and is in excellent shape.
