This is a very rare Underwood Broadcaster build. I purchased this personally from him and despite it being a stellar piece, I just bought another axe and flipping this one for funding. Rare as he built this one for himself and reliced it meticulously with super fine checking and aging throughout. Though it was one of his personal axes he had decided to let it go and I was in the right time/place that I got to go pick it up in person. All of Chads guitars of the past few years through current are no longer built with the Fender headstock shape/decal as the lawyers finally caught wind.
Body is a one piece swamp ash with BEAUTIFUL grain. Chad told me that he hand shaped the neck as a replica of a real '52 that he had in his shop. Medium thickness (~.86 @ 1st), slight V, great rolled edges, thin/tall frets with great crowns, 9.5-10" radius, and hand cut bone nut. Lightly aged, not overdone hardware, aged bakelite pickguard, honkin', but not overwound pups, I believe which are Kleins. Period correct router hump and neck pocket overhang, F decal, brass saddles, Rutters Broadcaster knobs. Weighs in at 6lb 15oz.
Sound acoustically rings beautifully, resonates throughout body to headstock, pickups - neck is round, warm, and chimey / bridge is honky and spanky with no shrillness. I would describe the guitar overall a more airy, bright, twanger. No muddy lows or woofy low mids.
If I didn't already have another blackguard I would love to keep this one. Comes in a black Fender SKB TSA002 case. Let me know if you have any questions.
