Up for sale, a 2005 Mosrite Ventures Model Glamorous Limited ‘64 vintage reissue model electric guitar in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This guitar boasts a custom color Pearl White gloss finish and extremely rare gold hardware. Manufactured by Fillmore in Japan, this small batch limited run model replicates the essential features of early Ventures Model instruments, with smooth knobs and embossed pickup covers, a sandcast Vibramute tailpiece, and prominent German Carve on the basswood body. The stock pair of single coil pickups have ample power and midrange content, wound properly to vintage-spec and both reading over 11k ohms, providing an authoritative sound that's quintessential Mosrite. Weighing 8lbs 12oz, this Mosrite has been setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation (string gauge can be set to buyer's preference).

Few guitars have a more storied history than the Mosrite brand, especially in the modern era, and this particular model is a rarely seen reissue crafted by Fillmore in Japan. Perhaps best known for being imported to the USA by Ed Roman and purportedly sold as "USA-made" (sometimes right down to the headstock decal and case silkscreen), this Mosrite boasts incredible fit and finish work and is an extremely finely crafted instrument worthy of Semie Moseley's legacy.

The maple neck has a slender and fast-feeling C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders and a hair more heft as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .825” deep at the 1st fret and .945” at the 12th. On the dark rosewood fretboard, the original slender vintage-style frets retain their full factory height with fret edge binding, showing just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-4. The guitar plays cleanly in every register with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. A faithful reissue in every respect, this Mosrite boasts a 24 3/4" scale length and a 1 1/2" wide aluminum nut accompanied by a zero fret. The headstock features an abalone-style Mosrite "Built in Soul" decal, replicating one of Semie Moseley's lesser used Mosrite slogans. There is also an unusual metal eagle, ostensibly aftermarket, affixed to the top of the headstock. The Kluson-style tuners have the classic '60s look and hold pitch well with unbridled vibrato use. The serial number is stamped on the last fret into the rosewood, just like vintage examples with a GL-prefix denoting the Glamorous model.

On the body, the electronics work as they should, with the original pickup pair, each measuring over 11k ohms with embossed "Mosrite of California" covers. The pickups are governed by Master Volume and Tone controls with smooth gold-plated knobs (predating the more common "M" knobs), along with a three-way pickup selector switch with a milled switch tip, following vintage spec down to the smallest details. The “Vibramute” vibrato is extremely smooth and elegant and also gold-plated, touch-sensitive in its responsiveness and made to exacting vintage spec with a sandcast base. There is modest patina across gold hardware, particularly on the string anchor and neck plate.

The instrument features a rare custom color Pearl White gloss finish that highlights the pitch perfect contours of the German Carve top. While there are numerous takes on Mosrite's prominent top carve, this particular example absolutely nails the elegant curves and proper depth of Mosrite's German Carve. The neck profile is flawless, and the guitar is extremely well-kept, with wear on the body limited to a couple minor scuffs and isolated lines of faint finish checking on top behind the bridge and similarly restrained wear on the back and body parameter.

The original brown faux alligator hardshell case is included and near mint, with a silkscreened Mosrite logo on the exterior. The original dated warranty registration card with matching serial is also present.
