So, I met this old Rancher Ray in Baumont Calif about 6 years ago over a car purchase- 2 in fact.. I bought a 68 Porsche 911 he had since new and an old Ford F100 p/up.. We became kind of "friends" after that... Both cars went to Germany..   He had an old Yamaha accoustic laying up against the Fireplace and I picked it up and played it for a minute and he says " Wait a minute- I've got something to show you Jonathan"... He pulled the Gretsch 6130 and the Magnatone amp out of a bedroom closet -brought it out... "My Dad gave this to me on my 14th Birthday !" Ray exclaimed...   The guitar had no strings on it and had been "put away" like that for some 40 years... It was lovely- the artistry was stunning... "How Much? " I asked..   "Not for sale Jonathan,", He said Gruffly...   Well, the next year came and I it was my birthday (11/10) and the phone rings at 4: 15 am ... "Ray- why are you calling me so early??!"      "I called to wish you a Happy Birthday!- he chortles in his deep gruff voice- "Now get up and enjoy it!" He adds...

Well, the conversation went on and he says, "Jonathan- Mildred and I have been thinking- and you love that old Guitar of ours- We decided to sell it to you!- So what do you want to do?"...       "I'm on my way!!!!"  The rest is History...  I piled enouph cash in my briefcase to satisfy even a high retail price and headed out to Idlewild/Baumont, my heart pounding with excitement...

Its a basically 1-owner 6130 Round Up thats markedly one if not the finest example left in the country... I took it to John Armintrout of  Famed "Johns Corner" in the "Guitar Center Sunset Blvd -L A" Store, and we spent 3 months getting "Jezzebelle" fine tuned..  The guitar needed NO reset- the neck was bullet straight- the "Pots were great  but for cleaning- the pick ups were great and needed just cleaniing..   The Guitars Melita Bridge and all knobs were there but the "Bakalite feet" for the bridge has literally dissintegrated - so we bought a Gretsch/ Melita replacement (although the original can be "re-shoe'd- and is included !)..Tuning keys original and perfect!!      After 2000.00 of just refreshing Jezzebelle- she looks almost as new- NO REFINISHING-NO NECK RESETS- NO CHANGES- Just TLC and lottsa Beez Wax/Orange oil/ Massaging... The Pick Guard we HAND- fashioned from vintage Tortoise Shell - (the original was dissintegrated as well-) But I (after hunting for 2 years) found one on e-bay and it will be potentially included with the Guitar- (if the guy gets off his ass and sends it already.?!)..Case is Tweed and Original and Patina'd. and in great condition... A true Rockabilly/ Country Western Legend !

Like I said- theres probably 30 of these left in the USA floating around - and I've studied them deeply.. I think mine is in the top 5 here Stateside- and totally ORIGINAL with amazing pictorial history and ownership and maintenance...  I regret having to sell Her- but need the cash for another project- (a portion of my House Remodel)...

There are very few 6130 Round-Ups because there were very limited #'s produced by the Fred Gretsch Co.. (300 or so..) The cost of the 6130 then was over 300.00-  If you think about it- your 700,000 Home cost 24000,00 in 1954 !!  Frankly, based on production #'s- I think the Gretsch 6130 should be more valuable than a same year Strat..  Time will tell..

THESE ARE ALL MY PICTURES ! THE GUITAR (NOW TUNED/MASSAGED) IS WHAT YOU GET !

Comes complete with ALL Hardware we changed (Knobs/ Melita Bridge etc.)..
Case/Magnatone Amp EVERYTHING !!  Many Many more pictures additionally available..

Thank you for your interest- Any questions should be directed to contact seller...THANX !
