About This Listing

I bought this from Bass Northwest around in 2010 or 2011. It just had a fret level and set up from J. Thayer guitars and it plays like a dream!
Flame maple top and headstock to match, ebony fingerboard, 3 piece maple neck, neck through body.  This bass is 34” scale with 24 frets, but the neck is long because of where the bridge mounts on the body. It’s a thin body that is a total of 1.5” thick. The maple top wood is 1/4” thick, and has a slim piece of what looks to be mahogany mounted under the maple top to provide a nice outline for it.
At 30 years old you can tell where the neck woods have contracted at slightly different rates and you can feel the seams/laminations in the neck between neck pieces as well as where the fingerboard mates (actually common from this era Alembic, you can find talkbass forums about it on Alembics, almost like they did not dry the wood properly in those days as you can feel the lamination between pieces of the neck). These are not cracks and the neck is still as straight as it is supposed to be on a bass, with a fully functioning truss rod.
This bass looks to have been a nightly player for many years by the previous owner as the neck and body have small dings/dents in the clear coat and slightly into the wood throughout. It does have one larger sized ding by the 5th fret on the E  side of the neck that may throw you off when playing, but I never had issues. There are also some decent dings/gouging in the lower left and bottom of the bass.  Side dots are pretty worn in and hard to see. There is the classic micro gouges in the clear coat and wood often called “belt rash” all over the back, with only two dings deep enough on the back to crack the clear and three on the front.

I tried to picture the condition as best I could, but the nature of these small dings throughout makes it hard to get reliable pictures of.
The brass bridge has nice patina. Electronics are fully functional.

The bass sounds and plays great I just am trying to thin my herd.
Comes with a case as cool as the bass, as someone put comic book art on it. The case has some wear.  Contact me for more pictures.
