About This Listing

19th century parlor guitar.

It was probably built in early Germany in the mid 1800s All woods are solid. The top is spruce, and the sides, back and neck are maple.

The fingerboard is rosewood, the bridge is maple wood, and the bridge pins and the end of the body are ebony with mother-of-pearl inlay. 62 cm scale.

The headstock with metal pegs, with screwless gears, retains its original shellac varnish. Its state of conservation is good, it is firm, comfortable to play and perfectly operational.

It has some small cracks that have been professionally repaired and sealed, and that do not affect its great sound, or its solidity.

It has been completely restored and adjusted to play comfortably. It maintains the tuning in all positions, and preserves the original frets, which are in very good condition, round and polished.

The mother-of-pearl inlays on the fingerboard are like fret markers, they are not original, they probably correspond to some old repair. It is a very unique guitar with a sweet and old sound with great projection.

The neck has a triangular section and a width at the nut of 43 mm, and it is very comfortable to play.

It has nylgut strings (synthetic gut) model "alabaster" from the Aquila brand.
