The Yamaha MX-2000 is a vintage high-quality power amplifier that was released in Japan in 1988, during the “Golden Era” of Japanese high-fidelity audio equipment. Like many units from this wonderful period, the MX-2000 offers great circuit engineering and the use of high-quality components. This amp in particular is extremely well regarded by amp aficionados and “audiophiles” around the world for its pure sound (low THD, even at high output) and ruggedness. It features Yamaha’s proprietary hyperbolic conversion amplification (HCA) circuit for excellent linearity and transient responsiveness. This thing is an absolute beast, clocking in at 28 kg (62 lb), and provides clean, color-free power rated at 130 W per channel (8 ohms), with a THD of <0.003%. Whatever your power needs, this excellent power amp is almost certainly going to provide it. The amp has a practical design and features VU meters for each channel.
