If you are looking for a vintage & unique Gibson Flying V then this the listing for you! Like all things, this guitar has a story. Feel free to ask any questions. Thank you!
This guitar started it's life as an original 1981 Gibson Flying V in natural finish. It had a dot neck. The previous owner purchased the block inlay neck with binding direct from Gibson and had it installed by a local luthier. It had one owner all that time until I acquired a few years back as a completely stripped husk. It had some mods done to it and had definitely been played. I used this vintage V body as a platform to build my dream V and used quality parts throughout.
The good:
I have a full room of guitars and a new, very expensive one on the way. I also am a sit down on a chair and play at home kinda guy and the V body is not conducive to that. It can be done but I just don't find myself grabbing it much. Make me an offer. Ask me a question. If this doesn't work maybe I'll part it out. Thanks!
PS--I noticed when I uploaded some of the pics the finish looks kinda smudged? I sprayed cleaner on the guitar right before taking the pics and now I notice that I didn't wipe it all off so a few spots look funky.
UPDATES--LAST BUYER DROPPED OUT. WILL SHIP IN A BRAND NEW, UNUSED SKB CASE FOR FLYING V!

The good:
- Seymour Duncan Saturday Night Special (neck & bridge)
- Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90 (middle)
- Freeway Ultra switch (allows for 9 different pickup combos)
- Kluson Revolution Tuners
- WD Music Custom pickguard
- WD Music witch hat knobs
- Gibson truss rod cover
- Short Lyre Vibrola
- Pots & wiring--this was a pre-wired job I bought online but the name escapes me.
- Custom silverburst finish
- Serial number still visible through refinish
- Had a professional setup & plays as it should up & down the neck
- Some witness lines where kahler tremolo & re-positioned jack were filled w/ new mahogany blocks
- Horn and top of body have a layer of epoxy & timbermate applied in attempt to conceal witness lines
- Paint job is not from factory and not flawless. Some orange peel in parts.
- Previous owner sanded down neck. Quite thin near headstock
- One of the block inlays is cracked but not loose
- Filled in 10mm triangular chip in headstock with quikwood
- Frets are not tall but function just fine
