Here is a 30's Era Slingerland Radio King drum set, sized 14x26/8x12/9x13/12x14/16x16/6.5x14" and wrapped in a timeless white marine pearl wrap! These drums have been fully stripped down and cleaned - their nickel hardware is smooth to the touch, and some of its original aged patina has been preserved by evenly tumbling the hardware to a certain degree. The bass drum hoops have their original WMP inlays preserved, which we masked off for a fresh repainting and resealing. Their interiors have been given a light coat of tung oil to preserve them and keep them from cracking in the future, and all dust/dirt/grime has been lightly removed from their surfaces!

The wrap on much of these drums has a significant amount of tiny hairline cracking that is not restorable, but also not noticeable beyond a few feet. Up close, it is quite prevalent, and we've included some close-up photos attempting to display it as best as it will show. The snare drum's wrap also has a couple instances of light bubbling, both at its seam and near a lug. It does not appear to be at any immediate risk of further lifting/bubbling.

These drums have all been fitted with new Remo Ambassador drum heads; coated tops and clear bottoms, minus the bass drum which has a clear Aquarian Super Kick and smooth white logo resonant side. We're also including the flat-base snare stand that we used to display the 14" tom in our photos, as well as the 16"s original cradle. The clip-on bass drum muffler and clip-on cymbal arm are also included with this outfit!

There is a restoration time lapse to show a bit of the cleaning process for similar drums of this era on YouTube that you can find by searching "Radio King Time Lapse Maxwell" on YouTube - check it out!

Steve’s Notes: This set blows me away. It’s 85 years old, but is as “at home” in the studio as anything modern day kit. And, the sizes are incredible. It is extremely rare to find an 8x12 from this era. This set has an 8x12, 9x13, 12x14 and then the 16x16 floor tom (in a cradle). Those toms truly sing. The 26” bass drum is wonderful and the solid maple Radio King is also superb. Just listen to it on the video.
