In on consignment this very nice example of an Italian-made 1968 Vox V230 Tempest XII 12-string electric guitar in 3-tone sunburst. The maple neck is nice and straight, the original frets are still crowned, and the truss rod is functioning properly. It just had a clean-up and setup upon its arrival here. This Vintage Electric Guitar from Vox includes its original grey teardrop hardshell case.
The V230 Tempest XII was an attempt by Vox to capitalize on the popularity of electric 12 strings in the mid-1960s as well as the popular 3-pickup Fender Stratocaster. The resemblance is certainly obvious; the body, pickups, pickguard, and switch are all reminiscent of the famous Fender model. Introduced for the 1966 model year and manufactured by EKO in Italy, the Tempest XII was one of a trio of electrics released in the mid-1960s that were named after famous British warplanes.
This guitar comes with its original Vox case shown in the photos.
