Cardinal instruments Magpie, hand built by Sam Evans, Austin TX.  Made of 100 year old sinker cypress reclaimed from the Mississippi River. I live in Austin, I picked the best piece from Sam's collection based on it's oldness and lightness (this is the lightest piece he had); a Honduran rosewood V-neck (I had Sam exactly copy my 1929 National Tricone neck - specifically designed for slide playing), ebony fret board,  and topped with custom oxidized copper. Features a Lollar Supro pickup in the bridge, plus a Lollar Firebird in the neck. I discussed this pickup combination at length on the phone with Jason Lollar and he guided me in the direction of choosing the Firebird as the best option along with the Surpro.  He thought it was a perfect match to balance the Supro. This guitar is a slide player's dream!

This guitar also comes with a set of Gotoh Delta 510 21:1 ratio tuners, and a custom bronze tailpiece hand made by a local artisan. The hardware has all been aged by Sam and it looks beautiful.

I paid $3400 for this guitar to be used for a studio project. Comes with the original upgraded Hiscox hard shell case. There is a 6 month wait to get this guitar from Cardinal Instruments.
