Here it is! the iconic EVANS brand actual tape delay made in Japan, the competitor of Roland, who rivaled in quality and design. Are you ready to use an ACTUAL magnetic tape unit? This is the tape delay design that each and every delay and echo pedal ever created has been modeled after: an analog unit that allows the musician to adjust the heads and parameters of how an endless, circular piece of magnetic tape records and plays back whatever signal you decide to imprint upon it. This is the original, the most legit, the truest vintage, and ultimate in delay and echo.
When you play with other musicians, your real tape unit beats their delay pedal EVERY time.
There's no comparison.
I say this as a surf guitar musician for the past 20+ years, as I've gone through at least 15 different delay pedals, which I absolutely loved, and had a lot of fun with. But... after having a REALLY tough year,  I decided that because life is very short, (always shorter than we think) I decided to treat myself to this real tape delay/echo, and it made all the difference: I won't go back! Like the Echoplex, this unit gives guitar, synth, line instruments, Hi-Z and Low-Z mics/instruments, and vocals a warm and punchy tone that sounds like great vintage warmth just on its own.

The sound, tone, and effect:
you'll quit your job in order to have more time using this unit.

The feeling when other musicians see your real magnetic tape delay rig, freak out, give you mad props and respect, and say the same thing all musicians say when they see a tape delay unit: "I can't believe you actually own one of those, I always wanted one!":
priceless
I didn't initially purchase this unit to make my friends and other musicians envious, but I've got admit, it is pretty sweet when it happens. So, don't buy this EVANS VE-

This unit allows you to manually adjust and slide the tape head(s) in order to adjust the timing of the delay and echo!
After being inspired by Hainbach on YouTube (he's an analog tape delay artistic genius), I was inspired to ditch the endless stomp box guitar pedals and trade up and get the real thing.
This has been a permanent fixture after my effect pedals, and before my amp. 3 different modes: Swell, Repeat, and Echo. This unit was top of the line and allows for two channels, each with its own EQ settings and adjustments. The VU meter on these units tends to be picky, and this one is no exception. Vintage equipment takes occasional knob and slider adjusting to get the sound just right, and the personality of this unit shines after spending some time dialing in the exact sound and tone you are looking for.
Create your effects and sound first, then send it all into the lush delay and tone of the EVANS Vocal Echo VE-80 and into your amp!
You are going to love this unit, highest-quality Japanese engineering and production with virtually zero tolerances.
(That's why Honda motors start up on the first try 40 years after being in a garage: Zero tolerances on the parts. Look it up.)
I am happy to pass on this vintage box of fun to someone who will be thrilled at finally getting to use REAL magnetic tape in their rig, instead of using IC chips and simulators.
Best regards,
NICO
