Upgraded Gibson SG 2011
This guitar has been heavily upgraded with several specs:
- Addition of a Maestro Vibrola vibrato. Although it is known to be easily going out of tune, this one is pretty stable and holds.
- Pickups have been changed to Gibson Classic '57. They offer much more versatility and sustain, they are the closest to the classic Gibson humbucker sound. As well, they offer a lot of tonal differences that can be managed through tone and volume knobs, ranging from crispy crunch to screaming distortion without changing any presets on the amps or pedals.
- Guitar has been refretted and revised in 2020 at Guitare Garage, a high-end guitar workshop in Paris.
-Knobs have been upgrading, as well as capacitors, helping making the guitar more usable: this make the course of the knob more gradual, helping you tailor your sound without changing presets (see pickup line).
Otherwise, this guitar is original from 2011. I have reduced the action for playability but it can be changed easily.
I am selling it because I grew tired of humbuckers (I have only used them all my life) and want to get onto single coils to have a different sound. After trying some excellent Fenders and Gibsons, I can say this one is a real pleasure to play, with great tonal possibilities.
I can give you other pics if you wish to. You can come check it out in Biarritz or have it sent to you through the postal service of your choice.
The guitar is sold with a Gibson fight case.
