This is a fully restored Wurlitzer 214A by The Chicago Electric Piano Company with the upgraded Warneck Research EP200A preamp by Retro Linear.
The 214A was Wurlitzer's flagship classroom piano and is one of my personal favorite models because it has one of the best sounding speaker setups of the Wurlitzer models. There are two pairs of 8" speakers facing the player and away from the player in this model and the cabinet is larger than the other classroom pianos that Wurlitzer sold. Although this model is more cumbersome than the portable 200A it is an ideal instrument for studio use--especially when equipped with the Warneck Research EP200A.
The "Third Knob" that you see on the face plate is the control for the vibrato speed--normally absent from the Wurlitzer's controls--and was designed by Tim Warneck of Warneck Research and Retro Linear. The amplifier has an incredibly low noise floor and Tim went to great lengths to capture the perfect EQ curve to bring us the classic Wurlitzer tone that we all know and love. I consider this amplifier a must have for all professional Wurlitzer users in the studio or on the road.
This piano came from a classroom of 16 pianos and was hand selected by myself as one of the best in the bunch. By chance it happened to be #7 and so appropriately we nicknamed this instrument "Lucky Number 7." There are more great 214A's to come so contact us directly if you would like one restored to your own specifications!
Sound samples coming soon--available by request.
Thank you for checking out my ad and you are welcome by my workshop studio anytime!
Cheers!
