Pedulla ThunderBass - Six String

Offered for your consideration is my 2003 six string Pedulla Thunderbass. If you’re familiar with Pedulla bases, you already know that these instruments, hand made by Michael Pedulla in the Boston area, are unparalleled in terms of quality, playability and tone. This is a “neck through” bass, with a five piece laminate of clear quarter sawn Hard Eastern Maple for stability, laminated with two pieces of quarter sawn Bubinga wood to help focus the sound. The 34” 24 fret fretboard is made of black ebony. The body is Maple, and the top and headstock veneer appear to be Lace Wood, rare for a Pedulla, and providing a somewhat reptilian appearance. The instrument is equipped with Bartolini pickups, and includes controls for master volume, pickup pan, and individual controls for active bass and treble boost/cut. In addition to the active tone system, the instrument sports a “Thunderguts” switch to round out your tonal options, providing mid-range boost when needed.

There is a slight imperfection in the top finish near the upper bout. It’s hard to pick up visually, but there’s a degree of finish roughness in that area. The bass is in excellent condition, but, if you look very closely, there are a few minor signs of marring, as you’d expect to find with a fourteen year old instrument. The instrument comes with a hard shell case, but it’s not the original Pedulla case and is in fair condition.
