RARE Dean Defyent electric guitar in Trans Purple Bubinga with general Hard Shell Case. This is a NEW A-stock instrument, NOT a "B" or factory second.

There are a couple thin spots in the finish on the edge of the bass side point on the body (see pic).

Note that these general Hard Shell Cases often have minor cosmetic imperfections such as minor scuffs and lifting in the Tolex covering in the curves. Please buy with that understanding.

The case is a general fit, not custom fit. There is extra room for the body of the instrument but the fit is good considering it is a general case. The fit can be firmed up with a strap or towel if desired.

In 2013, Dean Guitars and Full Sail University of Florida got together and had a "Design A Guitar" contest, and this guitar design was the winner!

Team name Defyent consisted of a handful of students that put together the idea for this guitar.

“It boiled down to the total package. You gave us a product name that we thought was catchy, and the design of the guitar is definitely something that is Dean-centric but also stands out and would look like a new piece to our catalog,†said Curse Mackey, Dean's Director of Marketing.

This guitar features a killer looking Bubinga cap on a uniquely shaped Mah body with a transparent purple finish. A set Mah neck provides excellent sustain and the action is perfect for all the metal heads in the world looking to shred - and with a buttery smooth Ebony fretboard, that's exactly what you'll want to be doing.

The team wanted to make a guitar that sounded just as good as it looked, so they designed it with the perfect pair of active EMG pickups. An EMG 85 in the neck and an EMG 81 in the bridge provide the perfect amount of grit to your tone.
