Excellent condition Japanese copy of 70's Gibson SG Deluxe. Purchased from Mike and Mikes this year. Played an actual 1972 Gibson SG Deluxe before I purchased this, it is amazing how close this guitar is to the real thing.
Made in the Matsumoku factory, where most of the great Japanese lawsuit guitars were made. Guitar is entirely original, aside for the tone caps I had a tech install after buying - this allows you to roll back the volume on the guitar without losing treble frequencies.
Some details:
Solid mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard. Witch hat knobs. 70's style block inlays. Walnut stain.
low output, vintage PAF pickups. Measuring in the low 7k's. Amazing sound, very defined midrange and TONS of vibe. Neck pickup is quite warm, middle position is really glassy, bridge pickup rips.
Bigsby copy tremolo arm. When depressed, it sticks a little bit, so you've got to pull it back up a tad to remain in tune. Otherwise, functions great!
Round, c-shaped neck. Extremely comfortable. Sits in the middle of "chuncky" and "thin." Very slight taper up the neck.
Super low action, has plenty of room to be raised as needed. The frets are worn, but still playable. I was able to get them leveled and crowned. Depending on your playing and preferred action, you may need to re-fret this in a few years. Guitar felt very comfortable in my hands.
Comes with a hardshell case, I think it is the original. Only selling because I bought a Les Paul and need the money. :( If you want an amazing vintage SG for half the price of a Gibson, this is the guitar for you!! This guitar will only appreciate in value.
Open to offers, feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks for looking!
