The first Studio Series instruments are highly valued for their finish, sustain, and unmistakable tone. This model has 24 frets (with Pearl dot inlays) and therefore, 2 full octaves. This guitar has a great neck, fast and comfortable! This model was only produced between 1979 and 1980; in the last edition, the plastic truss rod cover was replaced with one made of gold-plated metal. This model came equipped with the rare Ibanez V-2 pickups (by Maxon) with exposed cream-colored coils, managed through two volume and tone knobs. The V-2 magnet is Alnico V, and these Ibanez pickups had the highest output. They sound great and have a nice warm tone at low volumes. It was Ibanez's answer to DiMarzio's revolutionary Super Distortion pickup. It has the rare original Ibanez "Sure Grip I" knobs, and its rubber grips are like new (rare). Aesthetically, the guitar has several marks and dings, normal for a guitar over 45 years old.The neck is straight, the truss rod works correctly, and the frets are original and like new. The electronics are fully functional, without noise.A great choice for musicians and collectors of vintage Japanese Ibanez guitars. This Studio Series model is becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially with all the original electronics.Body: Solid Birch/MahoganyNeck: 3-piece rock mapleFretboard: RosewoodScale: 25.5" / 648 mmNut: Bone (43.7 mm)Worldwide Shipping AvailableWe have lots of experience shipping worldwide, and all gear is shipped with extra protection.
