The PJD Carey Standard is here presented in a Trans Pink finish with chambered Swamp Ash body. The bolt-on neck is constructed from Quartersawn Roasted Maple, topped with a compound radius Roasted Maple fretboard. Two hand-wound Bareknuckle Old Guard pickups are fitted - a humbucker in the bridge and P90 in the neck - providing a wide rage of classic tones, while quality Gotoh hardware is used for the bridge and tuners. Supplied in a PJD-branded Hiscox hardcase, the PJD Carey Standard is hand-built in the UK to a very high standard.

PJD Carey Standard in Trans Pink - Handmade in the UK

The PJD Carey Standard is the “stripped back” version of the company’s Carey model, with a simple aesthetic defined by its transparent open-pore nitrocellulose finish. Beautifully hand-built in Yorkshire, the Carey Standard features a chambered swamp ash body, here paired with a matching swamp ash top. We love how the grain of the ash shows through the finish on this guitar!

The neck on the Carey Standard is constructed from quartersawn roasted maple, with a custom neck profile based on a standard "C" shape. Combining the purification benefits of roasted maple, with the superior strength of the quarter sawn cut, this neck is highly stable with outstanding resonance transfer. It is topped with a Roasted Maple fretboard with compound 10”-12” radius, allowing seamless chorded playing at the nut, as well as intuitive string bends further up the neck.

In terms of pickups, this particular PJD Carey Standard has been fitted with two Bareknuckle Old Guard pickups. Appropriately for a UK-hand-built guitar, these pickups are hand-wound in the South West of England. The bridge humbucker and neck P90 both feature Alnico II magnets, and respond well to a variety of styles, from classic blues to alternative. The humbucker focuses on open, dynamic tone, while the P90 produces those lovely smooth and bright, slightly fatter single-coil sounds.

A 42mm bone nut, Gotoh Hardtail bridge and Gotoh Vintage-Style tuners complete the package, ensuring the hardware quality meets the standard of the guitar itself. The Carey Standard is supplied with in a PJD-branded Hiscox hard case and comes with a PJD certificate of authenticity.
