Klira SM18 Bass guitar ~1970 made in Germany - rare vintage

General introduction and background:

Very nice and very rare Klira SM (Soundmaster) 18 bass guitar. Made in about 1970 in West Germany.

Measurements, weight and other specs:

-     Scale: 758 mm

-     Nut: 40,5 mm

-     Weight: 3,58 kg

-     Pickups: two very airy single coils, 1x volume, 1x tone, toggle switch.

-     Body: Likely basswood, light weight, solid.

-     Neck: maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, small vintage frets, very slim.

Condition:

-     Body: Ok condition with lots of blemishes, dings and dongs all over, but no serious damages.

-     Neck: straight neck, frets are well preserved (9/10). There is no buzz.

-     Electronics: fully functional.

-     Hardware: fully functional, albeit with traces of use and corrosion.

-     Originality: all original except some screws.

Sound and Playability:

-     Playability and string action: I am not a bass player at all, but I think it plays easily with a low string action of just 2,9 mm at the 12th fret right now, and easily adjustable, fun to play. Straight neck, very slim and narrow, also for small hands. Airy and twangy sounds from the pickups, also with lots of clarity. Please watch the video.

 - Intonation: pretty much ok, but not adjustable with the bridge.

-     Sound: very airy and twangy single coils sounds. Please watch the video.

Repairs, Service:

-     Complete cleaning of body, parts and fretboard

-     Frets polished and fretboard oiled

-    Full check of the electronics, all ok;

-     New strings put on

-     Set up as good as possible

-     Ready to be played (just tune it up)

-     No case included. Will be shipped in wrap and sturdy cardboard box.

AFTER DELIVERY: After receiving the item, please inspect the package for obvious damages and make photos if there are any. After unpacking, check the item immediately for damages or other undocumented flaws. I accept a 14 days return and will pay for shipping if the item is in a different condition than described upon arrival. Please note that I will only take the item back entirely, but not grant any reduction of price and generally only accept returns if the item was unaltered after arrival.
