1944-46 Dickerson Student model lap steel guitar. Covered in beautiful, intact green pearl "mother-of-toilet seat". Single coil pickup, volume control. Everything works, although the volume pot is a little scratchy. No case. I have had the amp serviced at Carter's Vintage Guitars in Nashville, TN. They replaced one tube, restored the speaker to original cond. and installed a 3-prong plug & cable. I believe it's a 4 watt amp. The lap steel has had one tuning button replaced and new string ferules installed. Everything else is original and works great. The amp does not have a volume control, or power switch. It is a plug and play amp. Volume is controlled by whatever instrument (or pedal) is plugged into it. Sounds fantastic as is and great with effects pedals as well.
This is a rare example of this era of the Dickerson lap steel. As seen by the manufacturing tag nailed(!) to the interior of the amp, this was built between 1944-46 during the era Dickerson instruments were made by Gaston Fator Guitar Studios in Los Angeles. In 1946, the company was sold to Art Duhamell who would go on to change the name to Magnatone. Here's more on that era of these lap steels:
