With features like a sandblasted top and partially narrow blade-lathed bottom, medium-sized raw bell, and even weight through the bow, the Meinl 22" Byzance Vintage Sand Ride is designed to summon antique tone in a modern package. Built on a basis of versatile B20 alloy, the hammering over the bow provides a darker character contrasted by a bright sound on the bell. Designed in tandem with German drummer Benny Greb, this model accentuates sticking patterns with a clear articulation that's complemented by an almost instantaneous decay.
