Wanna own something no one else has? Here it is, a 1959-60 Premier model E723. I have been tracking these since I bought this one some 30 years ago and have found only two other examples of this top of the line solid carved three pickup beauty and they differ this one. In my humble opinion this one is in better condition than the other two.

I really thought that this would be one of the last guitars I would let go but with the many hundreds I have to move before they plant me I figured what the hell.

Weighing in at 7 lbs 2 oz with a body of solid carved mahogany the model E723 is described in the catalog as Ruby Red with gold parts. As with most red stained guitars from the late 50’s this one has faded but hints of the deep red remains under the pickguard.   Borrowing a bit from Gibson a cool relived scroll is carved into the top horn.  It looks like they made these bodies in a single neck pickup configuration then added the additional pickups as needed, Covering the affair with their signature monster gold flake pickguard material. This one has suffered a small bit of loss here and there.

The beefy neck of solid Brazilian rosewood with no adjustable truss rod remains straight and nicely playable. The fingerboard has just a slight radius and the frets are in fine shape. The width at the nut is 1 5/8” wide widening to 2 1/8” at the body. The back neck is a comfortable rounded shape with a depth at the first fret of just over 1” getting slightly deeper toward the body. The scale length measures 24 ¾”.

The P-90esque pickups stamped on the bottom Multivox corp of America don’t have quite the output of the Gibson P-90 but sound somewhere between the Gibson P-90 and a strat.  The pots are dink stamped the 42ndweek of 58.

This uber-rare example seems to be all original with the exception of a bit of shielded wire I replace between the pickups and controls as the old stuff has decayed and shorted out.

The original case is in nice shape with all the original hinges and latches working properly.

This may be a once in a lifetime opportunity to own one of the coolest and most rare solid body electric guitars ever built.

This is a sold as is no return listing so please look closely at all the pictures as they are an important part of the description. Please ask all questions and if you need more pictures let me know.

Thanks for looking.
