Ronin Morningstar Custom "Izzy Special # 2" 2021, Ember Firemist / Silver (Authorized Dealer)

Here we have a custom “Izzy Special” Morningstar by head Ronin Luthier and designer Izzy Lugo. Besides for a short stay with a friend, this beauty has been in our personal collection as we couldn’t bring ourselves to letting it go. However it’s time to find it a home where it’ll actually be played. It is only marked as Mint for the reason just stated, but might as well be marked as Brand New. 

This is likely the most versatile Ronin ever built. If you love the Morningstar’s design, but are more of a two pickup player this is the guitar for you. With this instrument Izzy put together a guitar with specs that he had been dreaming of trying together and wow is it perfection. 

This guitar incorporates the newly re-designed Speedster Twin-Scroll bridge pickup and classic Foil Bucker neck pickup. Both can be split into single coils with individual push buttons and further sculpted by a HPF (high pass filter) located beneath the tone control. What this means is you have multiple gain stages right at your fingertips, no need for boost or even drive pedals if you typically play with a cranked tube amp. You can use the buttons to sculpt your tone to taste. Start with a rich, fat humbucking lead tone with lots of gain, then reduce the output by splitting the
pickups for an incredibly sparkling, single coil rhythm tone. Then take it one step further by incorporating the HPF, which will decrease your gain even more, for pristine clean tones. What an innovative and useful idea.

The Speedster like the Foil Bucker is a splitable Humbucking take on a vintage Gold Foil, except it is based on the Gold Foil pickups found in Kay guitars from the 1960’s, which had more output. Both pickups are exceptionally responsive to your picking dynamics and the way you dig in.

This one of a kind “Izzy Special” Morningstar also has a Magic button next to the coil taps at the top of the guard. The Magic Button brings into play a specialized passive piezo pickup that resides inside of the bridge pickups cavity route. Engaging it can lead to many musical results and enhances the sounds of the very resonant Reclaimed Old Growth Redwood body. Upon pressing it, you'll be able to enhance all the subtle nuances of the instrument. Letting you tap and play behind the nut or scratch at the springs. You can also get acoustic like tones that are blend-able with the other pickups. As you roll down your guitars volume control, it becomes more pronounced, this can lead to lap-steel, banjo, dobro and many other experimental but extremely musical sounds. 

The finish on this Ronin is an upgraded dual tone Ember Firemist Red over Silver Relic with a matching headstock.This guitar is dying to be played, and is ready for its new owner to find it and
