About This Listing This is a 1963 Sears Silvertone 1474 Reverberation. It was recently serviced with a replaced load resistor coupling cap on the final gain stage. It has had recent service where most of the old tubes were replaced costing pretty good $.

The amp is in good condition for its age besides some corner scuffs but tolex still holds up and looks pretty good. This amp is very loud and has an amazing clean headroom. Channel 2 has an internal gain boost via a master volume that is controlled by the reverb circuit that was removed long ago. With the boost engaged, the amp has very loud output and easily overdrives into an ACDC like aggressive tone. If you want to put it back into original configuration, you can remove the boost feature by unplugging a cable within the chassis. The tremolo circuit works well and sounds good.

The low output side of channel 2 does not work. That appears to be the only non-funtional part of the amp. This is an easy way to get into a vintage amp for almost nothing. Enjoy.
