About This Listing

1967 Martin 0-18 Acoustic Guitar with a Natural finish. This is a great playing vintage Martin with a great sound. It's in very good condition for its age. This was made in early January 1967, before they changed the pickguard from tortoise shell to black. The string action at the 12th fret is currently set to 3.0mm. It weighs just 3.44 pounds and has a 1.70" nut width. The neck thickness measures 0.839" at the 1st fret and 1.010" at the 9th fret.

Overall great condition. The Spruce top has aged nicely and looks great. There is a little bit of typical finish checking throughout that only shows up under intense direct lighting. The top has one very small crack near the pickguard that has been braced underneath. There's also a bit of fingerwear between the pickguard and the soundhole. Other than that, the body is in fantastic condition. The previous owner had a pickup input jack installed on the side but the pickup has been removed. The bridge doesn't show any lifting. All binding looks great. There's a handful of small scuffs throughout but nothing major. The back has minimal worming. The neck joint looks solid with no issues. The back of the neck has some finish wear and a handful of wedding ring marks but still smooth and glossy. The neck is perfectly straight and has the perfect amount of neck relief. The rosewood fingerboard looks good and has minimal fingerwear near the first two frets. The original frets look outstanding and have just a tiny bit of wear on the first couple frets. All frets have been polished to a bright shine and there is no buzzing anywhere. The headstock is very clean with no dings or scuffs. The original tuners work perfectly and do a great job at keeping a tune.

Includes the hardshell case in very good condition. The case looks to be period correct and likely original. The case hardware has some oxidation but all latches work, as does the handle. The exterior of the case has some light scuffs from storage. Does not include any other accessories.

Martin 0-18

Built in Martin's Nazareth, PA workshop, the 0-18 was smaller than the 00-18 and the 000-18, but larger than earlier parlor-style guitars. Like other 18 series Martins, the 0-18 is defined by a Mahogany body (starting in 1917), Spruce top, and minimal cosmetic flourishes. Also like many classic Martins, the design of the 0-18 changed little from the World War II era until production ended in the mid-'90s.
Years of Production:
1898 - 1996
Wood Composition: Mahogany back and sides, Spruce top, Mahogany neck, Rosewood fingerboard
Design Elements: Tortoiseshell pickguard, unbound fingerboard, 14-frets (clear of body)
