Luxman L-540: A Japanese "Golden Era" amplifier with pure, refined sound!
This Luxman L-540 is a Japanese vintage integrated amp that was produced during the “Golden Era” of Japanese high-fidelity audio equipment, in 1989. The power amplifier in this amp uses a pure Class A circuit. A constant bias current is supplied However, when the regime of Class A operation is exceeded (15 W / channel), the output naturally shifts to Class AB operation based on Class A operation. Thus, this amp can realize the high sound purity of Class A operation and the exceptional power characteristics of Class AB operation. It also features independent phono amplifiers for MC and MM cartridges. The amp produces an exceptionally smooth and refined sound, but it can offer some great punch when driven. Finally,the L-540 has that “Golden Era” Japanese quality of construction you can immediately notice.
This unit is in excellent condition, and shows some natural signs of aging, including a few minor scratches and scuffs (please see photos). It has been thoroughly tested and checked by our professional in-house technician, confirming its flawless working quality.
