About This Listing

MJT lacquer finished Fiesta Red over 3 color Sunburst recreating the “Selmer Refins” of the 60’s from England. But......everything else is 100% 67’ Precision Bass (original case). Neck..Brazilian Rosewood is gorgeous and the Birdseye Maple neck? I’m not even gonna go into it, just look at it is all it takes. As you can plainly see the neck stamp is “5DEC67C” EXCEPT ITS A “B”!!! Someone in Fullerton was asleep at the switch that day. Now I’ve been fondling fenders for over 50 years. Never saw this before. Although clerical it still is a mistake that can be easily verifiable. Like the upside down “Jenny” postage stamp. Pots-cap-wiring-pickup-lollipop tuners-neckplate-bridge/pickup covers(which is amazing they’re still intact) knobs-pickguard& aluminum shield-strap buttons- screws-thumb rest and of course the body..
100% original. AND slightly over 8lbs! I have an Esquire that weights more then that!!! I’ve played it through everything from a.......
Vox Essex (50 watts/2-12’s)
67’ Ampeg B-15
Acoustic 360-
69’ Ampeg SVT
65’ Fender Dual Showman w/ JBL D140’s.
And it’s like no other Pbass I’ve ever owned, over a hundred easily. And just like the WHO sang...”I Can’t Explain”. IF it were a completely (no refin and a Selmer treatment) original Fiesta Red over Sunburst....15K to 18K all day long.

Here I need to share an enlightening email I received last week from a fellow Reverbite, unsolicited confirmation we have an unusual Precision here.

That's strange. I've never seen that before. C width would vary in the 60s (e.g. 1960-1961 "C" is thinner than 1964/65). But "B" necks appears almost (if not exactly) the same time as TV logos were introduced so JUN/JUL 68.
