Circa 1980 Original and rare Burns Scorpion bass guitar. Made in England.
This is a big , hefty instrument with the Scorpion shaped body and 'tail' neck. Its 34 inch scale length.
It has all the hallmarks of this period of UK guitar building with obvious similarities with Shergold and Hayman instruments.
Its in used condition with many marks, indents, scuffs and scrapes, a crack on one corner of the neck pocket and tarnishing to the metal parts in places. There are small chips around he headstock egdes and general signs of age, use and wear.
One issue is the binding has been repaired and some small pieces, especially on the bass side of the neck and have been repaired and replaced but its an overall good job.
As far as we know its all original, there is some slight modification on the inside of the electrics compartment by the switch, we are unsure if this was done in the factory or at a later dat and / or if the switch is original or not. The switch tip is missing but I will try and find something to fit (no promises) before sending out. The pots were also a little crackly, they are sealed units and as such hard to spray out, they did mostly cean up with some working back and forward but may still have some crackle going forwards but they are original and unusual so we didn't want to swap them out.

The bass plays nicely, the pickups are both working well and the little micro switch is some kind of phase between the pickups when the pickup selector switch is in the middle position.
The strings are new and the action and playability is good for the bass but you may wish to tweak / alter the set up once received.
Due to the size and wight we will ship with the neck removed so you will need to reassemble and restring (strings included) upon arrival.
No case but will be well packaged and boxed for shipping.
