This Gibson Tal Farlow is an arch top from the Custom Shop. Not only is this guitar classic looking, but has its own music history behind it. Tesla, is an iconic American rock band based out of Sacramento, CA that has been rockin’ since the ‘80s. Tesla bassist, Brian Wheat, has decided to sell his private collection of bases and guitars. Wheat recently published his autobiography book titled, “Son of a Milkman: My Crazy Life with Tesla”. Still in prime condition and in excellent working order, it’s perfect for any aspiring musician, mega Tesla fan, or rock music collector. Red wine in color, this special guitar is one of many in his collection. This model was released in 1962, and features upside-down J-200 fingerboard inlays, double-crown headstock inlays, and a 25 1/2’’ scale length. In addition to these features are two hum bucking pickups with individual volume and tone controls and a three-way selector switch. Tal Farlow, Talmage Holt Farlow, was an American self-taught jazz guitarist, who was such an amazing player that Gibson made a guitar and named it after him. Included with this guitar is a certificate of authenticity (COA) hand signed by Wheat himself and a photo of Wheat with the guitar in his studio. Upon request, Wheat can sign the guitar and we can send a video of Wheat sending a special message to you when purchased. This guitar was custom made, therefore there isn’t a serial number provided. The asking price of this classic guitar is $8,500. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions you may have and I will be happy to answer them.
