About This Listing

It's Electric Wildwoodians, there is electricity in the air, and that can only mean one thing: a Reverend Charger HB has arrived at Wildwood. The Charger HB is a dual-humbucker-equipped workhorse that can handle business with aplomb in a wide variety of genres from blues to pop to metal to jazz. Let's take a closer look and see why it has us so charged up!

The Charger HB's main power source is its korina body. Korina is an African wood that sounds similar to mahogany with a few key differences. Like mahogany, it's warm and punchy and it responds to the player's touch with lightning quickness. But, its top-end is a bit livelier and more harmonically complex, resulting in a slightly sunnier, more three-dimensional sound.

Within that korina body, you'll find two Alnico 5 humbuckers, and it is a perfect pairing. Reverend's humbuckers have enough heat to compete with any modern pickup, but they still have plenty of vintage mojo. They enhance the midrange's punching power even further, and they have plenty of gristle in the low-end. The highs have plenty of mass, and they can sizzle or sting depending on your mood and your right-hand velocity.

And, with Reverend's bass contour knob (which is basically a passive bass roll-off, you can get a thinner, quackier sound reminiscent of an overfed P-90 out of the humbuckers, making the Charger HB quite versatile. It also has a slightly different voice than a typical HH guitar because of its 25.5" scale length, which gives it enhanced articulation and clarity.

Power to the Player Reverend has kitted out the Charger HB with a metric ton of appointments that enhance the player's experience and make it supremely reliable. The medium oval neck profile is home to 22 0.110" wide x 0.050" high frets and a fingerboard with a 12" radius, a configuration well-suited to most techniques and playing styles (and, it's especially good for bending strings). Also, it has pin-lock tuners and a Boneite nut to ensure excellent tuning stability, and it comes equipped with boutique-quality pots and caps and a Pure Tone jack for consistent sound. Finally, an angled six-bolt neck plate increases stability and resonance while allowing easy access to the upper frets.

We're proud to showcase the Charger HB because it is a humbucking beast waiting to be unleashed. We invite you to take it for a spin, feel the electricity, and let its thunderous tones loose!
