About This Listing

AJL Gypsy-Fire Model (Favino-style guitar)

LOUD & FAT

Gypsy-Fire is a Larger bodied, Favino-style gypsyguitar. It has that typical nasal sound of old Favino guitar, with lots of bass, so it feels louder than a Selmer-style guitar. With upgraded top bracing, it has more punch on high strings than Favino guitars used to have.

WHY IT SOUNDS DIFFERENT

Gypsy-Fire bracing is based on the "Favino" bracing. It is quite a different sound compared to the Selmer, and the difference comes mostly from that. Also the soundbox has more air volume.

LARGER BODY

If You're tall, larger body size gives you better playing position.

MAPLE NECK

Gypsy-Fire guitar has very stiff three piece maple neck, with famous comfortable AJL-neckprofile.

  • LUTHIER: Ari Jukka Luomaranta
  • European flamed maple back & sides
  • BODY SIZE: 425mm
  • BRIDGE: Rosewood
  • Extra three Rosewood bridges of different heights
  • FINGERBOARD: Ebony, 20" radius
  • FINISH: Nitrocellulose
  • NECK: European Flamed Maple
  • NECK DIMENSIONS:45mm at the 0-fret, 57mm at the 14th fret
  • SCALE LENGTH: 570mm
  • TOP: European Spruce
  • HARDWARE: Brass, AJL tailpiece
  • AJL-tuners brass reliq'd
  • Handmade AJL-fiberglass case with leather handle

Included are 3 sets of silver jazz manouche strings, a mixed string set, a Dugain coconut pick and a spare screw tuner.

Varnish damage is superficial and does not affect the structure of the wood. The cracks in the varnish are due to the nitrocellulose varnish used. It occurs in many vintage guitars due to the passage of time.
