About This Listing

This guitar was a 40 year dream come true. In high school back in the late 60's I played a friends Gold Top with mini hum-buckers through a marshal stack and fell in love. I know why players loved this: Your pant legs moved when you hit a chord! I bought 2 different reissues some decades back and did not like the weight of those so I sold them. This guitar came to me in 2011 via Tim Tuckers guitar shop in Louisville, CO and I have used it for many of my live and recording gigs. I have transitioned to acoustics in my old age and want to pass this on to a player who I hope will get years of use out of it.

The neck is a gentle C shape with all original parts still on the guitar. The frets show wear such as flattening starting under higher strings from fret 7 through 12 and minor divots from frets 1 through 4. Frets need a refinishing to look perfect but play without buzzing for my style of playing. I use a medium action as I also like to play slide with 10/46 gauge strings. This guitar weighs slightly less than 8 pounds by using our step on digital scale. If you want a perfect weight I will need to take it to my local guitar shop.

The chip in the front is the biggest visual flaw which was there when I bought it and there are dings around the edges of the body. I may have caused a few of those though I always tried to take care. Also a bad hanger took a small amount of finish off of one side of the neck. I tried to get all of this in the photos.

From looking at the Gibson website and the nine digit serial number it appears this guitar was built on Feb 2nd 2007. That was a Friday. Built in Nashville, TN and guitar #2 stamped that day. The website was a bit confusing but I think I have the dating information correct. Below is more information on materials used. Thanks for looking.
