Guitar Addictions offers this pre ‘75 Ibanez Precision Bass copy to entice your Bass Guitar Addictions!
I have not been able to nail down an exact model number on this bass. There is no Serial Number and since Ibanez didn’t utilize SN’s until 1976, I’m dating it as 1975 or earlier.
It is very reminiscent of The Ibanez Silver Series, yet it lacks that designation on the headstock. Likewise, it has characteristics like the Challenger Series yet it lacks that designation as well.
There a few nicks and dings in the finish of the guitar as would be expected for a bass of this age. I have included some in the photographs and I am always happy to provide more upon request. If you need a specific pose for this guitar, just ask!
The body is solid Ash - 2 layers sandwiched together. Not quite a pancake body, but it’s solid. On the backside towards the bottom there is white paint transfer from an unknown source. The bass weighs in at 9lbs 3.3oz
The E tuner turns slightly out of round, indicating the key is slightly bent. Not bad but worth mentioning as I believe in a “no surprises” delivery.
The 5 piece maple neck is straight and smooth. The frets show a little wear but no dimples, dings or cuts and definitely nothing that interferes with playability.
There is a missing pickguard screw and the ashtray style pickup cover is not present.
Overall in great shape with age considered. I have classified it as “Good” condition. However when it’s age is considered coupled with the condition, I feel it’s better than “Good."
Included with this lawsuit era bass is a Roadrunner hard ABS plastic case in fantastic used condition.
International buyers - please message me for shipping rates prior to purchase.
As with any new to you guitar, a full setup for your playing preferences is recommended once you receive the guitar.
Please ask any questions prior to purchase.
