TASCAM Ms-16

Analog dream machine! Here we have a 16 channel one inch tape machine in working condition. All functions tested and operational. Lightly calibrated for approximate matching of input and output levels. All channels tested and recording/reproducing. All transport operations responding as expected. The heads have been relapped and have lots of life left. These are workhorse machines and this one is no exception. Further calibration can be achieved with MRL tape (which I do not possess). This is the 30 IPS model. Contrary to what “experts” on GearSlutz may say, this machine sounds wonderfully beefy and is not lacking any low end. Includes an original Tascam cart that is a bit wobbly with such a heavy tone monster. Comes with everything you need to make a rock n roll record: DBX dummy plugs (not pictured), take up reel and one very usable reel of RMG 911.

This machine was previously owned by Pieholden Suite Sound and used by the legendary Jay Bennett (Wilco).
