About This Listing

Accuphase DC-300:

The Accuphase DC-300 is a high-fidelity digital amplifier and digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that was released in Japan in 1996. The unit is remarkable for both its highly advanced circuit engineering and the high quality of the components used in its construction. The DC-300 was actually the first digital preamplifier in the world (and retailed in 1996 for about $ 9500 in today's US dollars!), Featuring highly advanced circuits with DSPs for high-speed arithmetic processing. accept input digital signals with sampling frequencies of 32 / 44.1 / 48kHz, up to 24 bit resolution. After decoding by Accuphase's DAI (Digital Audio Interface), the digital signal is handled by the DSP, which performs all preamp signal processing (eg tone control) , phase switching, etc.).Since everything is performed in the digital realm, the original signal is highly preserved. Finally, the digital signal is converted to analog with Accuphase's Multiple Multi-Bit (MMB) DAC. By virtue of these features and more, the sound quality with the DC -300 is phenomenal. This DC-300 is loaded with the Al-U1 expansion board, which allows for unbalanced high-level inputs (eg analog outs from a CD player, tuner, tape recorder, etc.).

This particular unit is in excellent condition, with light natural signs of use, but absent of immediately noticeable scratches (please check photos). Furthermore, it has been thoroughly tested and checked by our professional in-house technician, confirming its flawless working quality. Accuphase amps are known for their robust construction and use of the highest quality parts, so it's likely this unit will see many more years of use.
