About This Listing

This is a vintage Yamaha SG5-A from 1969 with OHSC. These guitars sound amazing and are very famous and sought after (I can see why!). This is from the first version of the SG line called "Flying Samurai" short lived from 1967-1971.

Nothing sounds quite like these SG's. They have a very pleaseant vintage clean tone and driven with dirt or fuzz, they really excel and stand out. The circuit is quite innovative for the era. Neck pick up alone, Middle and bridge in series, parallel and out of phase, bridge alone. Surf, Jazz, Blues, Motown, Metal, Classic Rock, you name it, for every type of music genre this vintage axe is a true Tone Monster!

Everything is original, but the tuners, 2 knobs, vibrato arm, a professional refret and 1 strap button.

Everything else is all stock from the era. The OHSC got a bump on the bottom side while being at the airport, but the original hard shell case works perfectly and protects the guitar entirely. The guitar shows the obvious wear of more than 50 years of Rock n' Roll!

This is the perfect axe for your collection!

I can send a video demonstrating the sound of the guitar upon request.

Worldwide shipping through FedEx and priced to sell.
