This is a Canopus Yaiba Bop Kit. They are made of 100% maple shells. This kit is the stunning Dark Red Sparkle finish. This is a lacquer, NOT a wrap. The pictures do not do this kit justice, the finish really POPS. Let’s get into the specs:
18x14 bass drum with Tom mount. ( missing one rubber foot on one bass drum leg) 12x8 Tom ( no mount included ) will have to mount on snare stand OR you can buy a RIMS mount for the Tom. 14x14 Floor Tom 14x5.5 snare Drum.
The overall condition of the kit is “Fair to good”. There are some surface scratches on the drums. You can see them up close but when you are standing 5-10 feet away, you really can’t spot them. Under the stage lights, you definitely will not be able to spot them since these are going to really sparkle. If you are looking for a players kit - this is it. If you are looking for a showroom kit - this is NOT it. We just want to be clear about that. Other things to note- on of the floor tom leg brackets is stripped a little bit. It will still tighten and hold tension but either the wing nut OR the bracket may need to be replaced down the road. Also - three floor Tom legs are included but one leg is shorter than the other two by a little bit. Not sure why but this is how the kit came to us. Now for the most important part - the sound. These drums SING. They have great attack and punch. You can tune them up and they don’t choke out or can you drop them low and they have a nice warm rumble about them. This kit can be great for a bop kit all tuned up in the higher registers for that type of music OR, this can be used as an all around kit for smaller spaces/stages, or even just as a 2nd practice kit.
