Focusrite Platinum VoiceMaster Pro Channel Strip

The VoiceMaster Pro is a single channel, Class A microphone preamplifier with latency-free monitoring that ensures direct and delay-free mix control. Tools such as the voice-optimized EQ, Vintage Harmonics and Tube Sound allow for further customization of the source.

The latency-free monitoring section contains a separate stereo monitoring circuit that allows the user to monitor the vocal, plus a FX loop such as reverb, and the mix being played back from the recording device while controlling the levels of all three sources. Additionally, the VoiceMaster Pro provides an instrument input in addition to the line and microphone inputs, and an insert send and return that is between the pre and the expander section. Routing flexibility is enhanced by the order in which processors can be used. Both the order of the Vintage Harmonics into Compressor chain and the Compressor into EQ chain can be reversed. A Tube Sound section is also included.

The opto compressor and expander both have new, lower noise circuitry. The de-esser circuitry is taken from the high-end ISA 430 and includes its side-chain "listen" function for ease of set up. The two rack space VoiceMaster Pro has a very flexible EQ section and multiple LED displays to help with making sure the signal path is optimized at all points.
