Rare 1st Run, Gibson Custom Shop Dave Grohl Signature DG-335 Pelham Blue!

Only 300 limited pieces were made in the 1st run...and only 200 Pelham Blue.

This guitar has been played well over the years and is aging into a closet classic with serious attitude. It has the normal types of dings & scratches for a guitar this old that has been played over the years.

I have the original case & C.O.A. & I will send pics of those items while the sale is being processed by Reverb, but rest assured you will have them before the guitar ships.

Prices are all over the place for this guitar and for its condition & rarity in general I believe this is the best value for such an iconic guitar. I acquired the guitar from a musician in my local music community & I’m selling it for personal reasons but let’s just say I’m OUT on the whole Dad Rock Scene but just because I’m out on that scene doesn’t mean you have to be… You can buy it now and add it to your collection of guitars or be left wanting something only so few have and the absolute best part about of this guitar is that you can play & enjoy it everyday with no worry about its value dropping.

Original Press Release with Guitar Backstory

“NASHVILLE, TN (September 27, 2007) - Gibson has announced the release of the new Dave Grohl model guitar, the DG-335, that will be available to Foo Fighters fans and guitarists, alike, on Thursday, October 4th, 2007. This new guitar is inspired by Grohl’s much-loved Trini Lopez signature model. The new model, created by the artisans at the Gibson Custom Shop with the input of Grohl himself, will give rock fans a chance to channel the Foo Fighters’ renowned lead singer.

Grohl has always been a long-time fan of the Trini Lopez signature model guitar that Gibson built from 1964-1971. The Trini Lopez model was a striking take on Gibson’s classic ES-335 semi-hollow body guitar which is a hybrid between a solidbody and a hollowbody. Grohl has a particular love for the Trini Lopez in a rare Pelham Blue color that was used by the Gibson Custom Shop in producing this limited model.

Grohl’s ''Inspired By'' DG-335 has the classic Firebird-style headstock with six-on-a-side tuners set into an ES-335 style semi-hollow body. The body of the guitar has stylish diamond f-holes and a double cutaway design. The inlays on the rosewood fretboard are acrylic split diamond which is a unique feature that remains from the original Trini Lopez model. Grohl’s taste is even expressed through the pickups -- a Burstbucker in the neck and a Burstbucker in the bridge. These pickups are within the original "Patent Applied For humbucking spec, known for their ability to create clean and articulate distortion and responsible for helping to deliver the amazing tones that Grohl has become famous for while fronting the ever-popular Foo Fighters. The guitar is offered in Grohl’s favorite Pelham Blue & each guitar includes a Custom Shop case and special certificate of authenticity signed by Grohl, himself.”
