Luthier Dieter Hopf’s family has been building classical guitar instruments in Germany for over 300 years. Dieter Hopf is known for his high quality workmanship and use of highest quality materials.
This powerful classic guitar features a solid cedar top and stunning solid Macassar ebony back and sides. The build quality of this instrument is top-notch and the the wooden bindings and rosette make for an attractive look.
The sound of this instrument is typically Hopf: powerful, defined and expressive. The neck has a thin layer of unvarnished Macassar ebony which according to Dieter stiffens the neck and absorbs perspiration. It also gives this guitar an distinctive look and offers smooth playability.
While this Virtuoso was built in 1983, it certainly looks a couple years younger. It is exceptionally clean and only has some small traces of use on the body and one ding on the top below the bridge. Comes in a brown hardshell case with TFOA passport.
