This beautifully styled Hammond Solovox Tone Cabinet is model K series B serial number 60570. It includes the original matching Solovox keyboard and was designed to hook onto a standard upright piano as a very early synth keyboard. This one is missing several tubes - they were probably pulled for guitar amp use. It needs 7 tubes that are 6sn7, 2 6K6 tubes, one 5Y3G tube, and one 6sj7 tube. The unit is untested. A huge cloth wrapped cord connects the keyboard to the tone cabinet. The tone cabinet has a center speaker with a grill that's in good condition and the speaker sounds like it is intact when I touch the cone. I tried to take a photograph of the enormous transformer on the left side of the missing rectifier tube.
The tone cabinet is 21 and 1/2 in wide and a little over 27 in tall. It is about 5 inches deep. This piece has an important place in the history of electronic music and its beauty will make it a conversation starter for decades to come.
