Pioneer PL-1400:
An excellent, handsome "Golden Era" turntable!
Item Description
The Pioneer PL-1400, released in 1974 during the "Gold Era" of Japanese high-fidelity audio equipment, is a well-crafted direct drive turntable that sounds as good as it looks. By virtue of the PL-1400's super low speed brushless DC servo motor, extremely solid construction, and oversized and heavy platter, pitch accuracy is phenomenal. The PL-1400 uses a sophisticated method of feedback control (by electronic control circuit with transistor and diode), whereby revolutions are constant regardless of fluctuations in the ambient temperature or supplied voltage. The performance is exceptional. Add to this the handsome vintage design, and you have a turntable that is both functional and beautiful.
This turntable is in very good condition, with minor signs of age and use, including some minor scratches and discolorations (see pictures). The turntable has been tested by our professional technician, confirming its flawless operation. The 33 and 45 settings both work perfectly, and the platter rotation is like clockwork, as expected from Japanese audio products of this era, which were built for a lifetime of operation. Not included a headshell and cartridge.
