For sale is an awesome playing and sounding Jaguar that has been brought back from the grave.
This is not 100% original and is not a collector piece. Please read below for details!
Neck is original, appears to have some overspray on the back of the neck, but the board, dots, frets, tuners all appear original. Unfortunately no date stamp on the neck, cannot say why this was taken off, however it’s very clear this neck is all correct for a pre-cbs Jaguar. Brazilian board, clay dots, and Lake Placid Blue headstock. Nut is new.
Body is an original pre-cbs Jaguar body, but the shape of the arm contour was changed slightly when refinished. ALL parts on the body are new. Other than the wood itself, this has all been replaced. Pickups are Fender AVRI, Trem is Fender AVRI, bridge is Fender Johnny Marr bridge, all electronics and switches are new. Guitar has been fully shielded and wired like a vintage Jaguar.
Please ask any and all questions, and I am open to reasonable offers. I understand that because very little is original that brings the value down. However to sell all these parts individually would bring substantially more than what I’m asking for the guitar as a whole.
I do not have a case for this at this time, however I will be looking into one shortly. If purchased before then, I assure you it will be packed properly and safely for transport
The Fender Jaguar was introduced as a high-end model guitar four years after the Jazzmaster. Though similar to the Jazzmaster in its offset body and lead/rhythem circuits controls, the Jaguar differed in two key ways. For one, the Jaguar used a shorter 24-inch scale length compared to the 25 1/2-inch of most Fender guitars. Additionally, the Jaguar used two thinner single-coil pickups compared to the feedback-prone soapbox pickups of the Jazzmaster. The Jaguar was not as popular as the Telecaster or Strat in its initial run, but has found some popularity with punk, grunge and indie rockers since.
