About This Listing

This Item is in Very Good Condition. There are some scuffs and scratches on the tolex and wood panels. Other than that, this is an extremely clean amplifier for it's age. According to the previous owner, it spent it's entire life in the same living room and never left the house. Footswitch not included.

The Yamaha G50-410 is a 50 watt, solid state combo amp, featuring a three band EQ, a bright knob, (foot-switchable) reverb and tremolo, distortion, as well as a preset volume which can be accessed by a footswitch. This amp features two inputs, "high" and "low" options. The speakers in this amp are 4 Yamaha designed 10" speakers, which printed on the speakers, show their EQ graph.

This amp is somewhat reminiscent of a jazz-chorus because its ability to produce a loud, extremely clean sounds, perfect for jazz players - or for jangle-rockers, and post-punks alike.

The distortion channel in this amp is much different than any distortion channel found in a traditional tube amp, it sounds fairly light in gain (mainly due to its blending of your clean and distorted sound), and has a frequency response full of lows and low-mids. This distortion sound is not typically sought after due to its nontraditional nature, but in some contexts, it could produce some very interesting, ripping sounds!

The reverb is a very mild, spring like verb, much different from a traditional fender reverb, darker and less prominent in the signal, even when maxed out. The tremolo allows for a broad range of more subtle trem sounds such as ones that you may get out of a tube amp, to extremely intense (and outrageously fast, flutter like) trem sounds that are unique to this amp.

This amp will be plenty loud for the gigging musician, plenty clean, and an interesting addition to any studio or jam space!
