About This Listing

Demo Model - Kay Vintage Reissue K5970VB Jazz Special - Blonde - Electric Bass Guitar With 20mm Heavy Duty Matching Padded Gig Bag
From 2009 to 2018, only 57 Blonde Jazz Special Bass Reissues were ever made!

From 2009, Kay has Reissued 7 Selected Vintage models –
5 Electric Guitars and 2 Electric Bass Guitars all from the 50’s era
Each model has had very limited production, with a total less than 1,500 Reissues manufactured since the project began. Note: Fender can produce 1,500 guitars per week!

Meet your guitar: K5970VB
one of 57 built from 2008-17

The Kay Vintage Reissue Jazz Special Bass, is a limited run and is in very short supply, the factory has fewer than 3 new instruments available.
Please Note: Used K5970V Vintage Reissues have been offered at prices that are over MSRP and are trending upward due to their collectability and limited production.

The Kay Pro Bass comes shop adjusted, with 20mm padded gig bag. If you have considered owning this instrument this is the time before they are gone.

The K5970VB Jazz Special Bass has a long scale semi-hollow body and features a single coil pickup, rosewood bridge and fingerboard.

The Jazz Special Bass has been the most coveted Kay Model by collectors and is very rare.
So sought after that even The Fab Four (Internationally acclaimed Beatles tribute act) and Paul McCartney Wings tribute frontman Ardy Saraff had to have one for his arsenal!

It was featured on the cover of McCartney's 45-rpm single "Jet", the performance video from Wings for "Junior's Farm" and again in the video "Ebony and Ivory", was used exclusively to record the Wings 1973 album "Red Rose Speedway" and was the bass used by the band, The Surfaris", in the '60s to record the hit "Wipeout".

This reissue edition was designed and produced under the direction of world-renowned Luthier, and Professional Studio Guitar and Bass Player,  Roger Fritz.  Roger is the guitar maker that is in charge of building the USA Recording Series Kay Reissue Electric Guitars and Basses.

Known for its thumps, subsonic low end and slim neck as well as its woody tone, the hollow body construction and exclusive bracing system make this bass ideal for live and studio use. The faux tortoise shell pickguard combined with the Kel-von-a-tor headstock gives the Jazz Special bass its avant-garde appeal.
